In 2009, the parish center of Quingeo was declared a State Cultural Heritage for its valuable historical and cultural elements. Later, in 2025, the Municipality of Cuenca highlighted its center for its exquisite “vernacular architecture”.
Quingeo was founded 8 September in 1852 and Quingeo’s name was born when the French Geodesic Mission, when touring the area, noticed its resemblance to a French town called “Quingei”. Fascinated, they decided to call it that, and over time, the name evolved to Quingeo.
Visit Quingeo and discover its vernacular architecture, its agricultural production and its natural tourism.
