Several activities have been organized to highlight the cultural values of Cuenca, Azuay, and all of Ecuador, a people closely linked to the land.

On Saturday, October 1st, and Sunday, October 2nd there will be a thematic fair of handicraft identity along with the Andean Festival, where healers, Andean cosmovision articles, gastronomy, and much more will be available.

On Saturday, October 1st at 8:30 AM, the adornment of the Sacred Koricancha and the Cultural Identity Fair will take place.

And on Sunday, October 2 at 8:30 AM there will be a Grain Blessing Ceremony and Sowing of encapsulated seeds.

These last two activities will take place in the green areas of the Museum of Gastronomy of Cuenca, located on ‘Pueblos de los Quitus’ and ‘Cultura Tolita’ streets, Challuabamba sector.

The Koya-Killa Raymi ceremony stands out for the cultural richness of the communities, all dedicated to agricultural activities. During the celebration, rites of purification and gratitude to the moon – in Quechua, to the Koya or Killa – are performed.
