Amor en tiempos de likes (Love in the Time of Likes) is a film about five stories that revolve around love and social networks. The various stories make this movie very interesting for audiences, as each person is going to feel connected one or more.
“We applaud that this film has been shot in Cuenca, and without a doubt our city is the protagonist. Its magical and romantic setting made it possible to tell unique stories,” said María Angélica León, executive director of the Municipal Tourism Foundation.
Cuenca is the perfect setting for filmmaking as it is not only one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Ecuador and the entire continent, but also because of its: architecture, art, culture, landscapes, gastronomy and the warmth of its people.
It is also a privilege, because all the spaces and places are very well preserved, and most importantly, one spot is very close to the other. For example, a scene can be filmed in Parque Calderón and a few meters away, in the famous Plaza de las Flores, the next one.
León stated that it is time to: support local cinema, to consume quality content and to go to the theatre and enjoy the film, as this would help Amor en tiempos de likes to reach Netflix, a platform that will show the world, not only the great talent of the producers and actors, but also the beauties that Cuenca has to offer. This would also motivate other producers to visit Cuenca and film their next productions there.
The worldwide exposure that this movie will surely get will also arouse the interest of future travelers to Cuenca. Surely when watching the scenes and all the fantastic spots featured in the film, everyone will want to come and experience Cuenca: “the best kept architectural treasure of the Andes.”
“Thank you friends, producers and actors for telling this story in our city; all of us who live in it applaud you, and from now on something is very clear: Cinema is made in Cuenca,” the official closed. The film releases in all theaters in Ecuador on September 15.
