Ambato will have its “First Bread and Chocolate Festival”

From October 21st to 23rd, Ambato will have its “First Bread and Chocolate Festival”, an activity that will take place at the Chamber of Commerce of Ambato Sede Sur.

In Ambato, chocolate and bread mean great productive and family activities, closely linked to the identity of the city. But the importance of these two products goes beyond the merely economic, since they have become icons for the locals as well as for the many people who keep coming from other provinces of the country looking for bread and chocolate, fascinated by their quality and exceptional flavor.

The Municipality of Ambato, through its Department of Culture and Tourism and together with the Chamber of Commerce of Ambato and the Universidad Regional Autónoma de Los Andes, have organized the “First Bread and Chocolate Festival” in order to provide citizens with a space in which they can enhance the activities of bakery and chocolate making, so typically Ambatian.

The organizers aim to make the Festival one of the most important in Ecuador in terms of trade, tourism, culture, and integration and thus strengthen local gastronomy and entrepreneurship, as well as the tourist and cultural attraction of Ambato, through the promotion of two of its most representative products – chocolate and bread.

It is worth mentioning that many of Ambato’s regular customers are from Cuenca, which is why, through a Gastronomic Tourism Marketing strategy, the MIGA brand was presented during the Festival, with which Ambato is expected to position itself as a gastronomic destination of national and international renown.
